Healthy Habits: How Small Steps Can Make a Big Impact

Simplifying the path to healthy habits for you and your team

Why Healthy Habits Are the Key

Health is one of the greatest gifts we have, but maintaining it often feels like a challenge. Where do you start? How do you stay consistent? At Charged Health, we believe in a Measure, Learn, Act approach. First, we map your health using scientifically backed measurements. Then, we translate these insights into practical, personalized advice, and finally, we guide you in applying new habits.

Small, achievable steps can lead to enormous improvements, and we have the proof. In this article, I’ll share insights from our research and practical tips to help you get started today. Because becoming healthier starts with one simple step.

What Is the Impact of Healthy Habits? Here's What We Discovered.

At Charged Health, we conducted research on the effects of our interventions and lifestyle guidance. Using the Multiscan Fit, which measures over 200 biomarkers (such as body composition, stress levels, spinal health, and cardiovascular fitness), we map health in great detail. But measurement goes beyond numbers. We aim to understand what clients truly want to achieve and why.

That’s why we combine data from the Multiscan with personal conversations about habits and goals. This helps us make interventions not only effective but also sustainable.

In 2024, we analyzed all anonymized data, comparing results with baseline measurements. The insights? Significant progress for most clients and valuable lessons about what truly works. Our mission remains: not just collecting data but empowering people with the tools to take control of their own health.

Do the Results Really Work?

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • 67% show progress: Most clients saw clear improvements in their overall well-being.

  • Maximum progress: One client improved their Wellness Score by a remarkable 80 points!

  • Average progress: On average, clients improved by about 35 points.

  • Limited setbacks for 33%: A smaller group experienced slight setbacks, often due to external factors like stress or personal circumstances.

Key areas of improvement include stress management, spinal health, and cardiovascular fitness. Relatively simple interventions, such as breathing exercises, light movement (like walking), stretching, or small posture adjustments, had an enormous impact. This proves that small, targeted steps can make a big difference.

The Long Haul: Body Composition Takes Time

Another finding is that changes in body composition, such as muscle mass or fat percentage, require longer periods for significant change. This process takes months, not weeks. The lesson? Patience pays off.

What Can You Do?

  • Consistency over perfection: Focus on regular efforts, like weekly strength training and meal planning.

  • Give your body time: Don’t expect miracles in a few weeks; trust the process.

What Do Our Clients Need?

Interestingly, our Habits Scan revealed that transforming the body is a top priority for 19% of our clients. This ranges from weight loss to building muscle and a stronger physique. Following this, 15.9% want more energy, and 14.3% aim to reduce stress. This shows that physical and mental health often go hand in hand.

Other key themes include better sleep (11.1%) and finding more purpose (12.7%). This highlights that health for many people is more than just the physical—it also involves mental and emotional well-being.

What this data teaches us is that health is personal. For some, it’s about physical improvements, while for others, it’s about mental balance or better sleep. This underscores the importance of tailoring our interventions to the specific needs of each client. Only by truly meeting people where they are can we make sustainable changes.

What Motivates?

Before starting a healthier lifestyle, it’s important to know what truly motivates you. This insight helps you get through tough times when results may take time to appear. When you clearly understand your drive, you stay focused and motivated.

From our Habits Scan, we learned:

  • 52.4% are motivated by setting and achieving specific goals.

  • 19% value enjoyment in the process.

  • 9.5% rely on social support and teamwork.

What about you? What motivates you to work on healthier habits? Knowing this could be the difference between a temporary attempt and lasting change.

Who Are Our Clients, and What Do They Seek?

On average, our clients rate their lives at an almost 8 out of 10 (7.95). This shows that they are generally satisfied and happy. But why seek improvement? For them, it’s not about perfection—it’s about something much more important: continuing to invest in themselves.

They want to grow, feel more energetic, and bring out the best in themselves—in a realistic and sustainable way.

Insights from Our Habits Scan

Through the Habits Scan, we extensively asked clients about their habits and how they subjectively assess their own health. These insights help us personalize interventions and focus on areas where clients can benefit the most.

What Can We Learn from Setbacks?

Progress isn’t always linear. While the majority of our clients make strides forward, 33% experienced minor setbacks. This reminds us that behavior change is a process of ups and downs. Setbacks are not failures but opportunities to learn where support is needed.

Where we see setbacks:

  • Stress: Often influenced by external factors like workload or personal issues, stress management requires an integrated approach.

  • Spinal health: Setbacks often result from poor posture or lack of movement. Small daily adjustments can make a big difference.

What Does This Mean for You?

Our research shows that healthy habits truly make an impact. The key lies in a holistic approach: combine physical interventions with mental resilience. Remember, small changes, like improving sleep patterns or daily movement, can have long-term effects.
